Volunteer Opportunities at the Missouri State Fair!
1. Volunteer at the booth
We are seeking additional volunteers to staff the booth at the State Fair from August 7 to August 17. If you are interested, please contact Ray James via raymondjames552@gmail.com.
2. Volunteer at Parade
The State Fair Parade takes place on August 7. We are seeking individuals to ride on the Democrats' floats. Line-up starts at 4:30 pm. If you are joining us, please park at the State Fair Shopping Center and walk west to State Fair Boulevard, where you will look for the Democrats' floats. Bring a chair to sit on the floats.

July Meeting on Thursday, July 17, 2025
We are having our regular monthly meeting this coming Thursday!
Date: Thursday, July 17
Time: Social at 5 pm, meeting at 6 pm
Place: Heroes Pub & Restaurant
We will collect donations for the Johnson County Food Center at the meeting. Please bring shelf-stable, canned, or dry boxed food items.
Earlier that day, there would be a "Good Trouble Protest and Rally" at noon at the Johnson County Courthouse (300 North Holden St.). Please see the earlier post for details.

2. Good Trouble Lives On protest
Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action in response to the attacks on our civil and human rights posed by the Trump administration, and to remind them that in America, power lies with the people.
On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis' passing, we are taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.
JoCoMo Dem has partnered with Burg Resist, a coalition of local Johnson County organizations, including People Over Politics, CEA, No Small Act, Love Productions, and Diversity and Dialogue, for this event.
For voter suppression bills, such as the SAVE Act, and the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we are rising to prove it. This is more than a protest; it is a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
There will be a rally on the lawn. Please bring your lawn chairs, cold water, and your signs.
